Tabor City: Third Night

Yesterday was a day of anticipation as we awaited the arrival of  eight more Sams-O-Wake members. The day was spent saying hello, visiting, and some computer time.  The group went to dinner at The Todd House  where we enjoyed an inexpensive Thanksgiving-themed home cooking buffet.  After a stop at Food Lion, we headed back to the campground where we enjoyed a conversation circle in an empty campsite.  It was too warm for a campfire, but turned into a pleasant evening to be outside.  Over night,  storms rumbled through to interrupt  the silence of this rural campground.

This morning, we had several more members come to tour Little House.  Five more members arrived bringing our total number of attendees to 30 people.  Tonight, we had a pot luck supper in the pavilion which is equipped with 3 ceiling fans as well as a huge oscillating wall fan.  Hank grilled beef hot dogs and chicken/apple sausages.  We also provided the condiments, buns, chopped peppers and onions, and everyone brought side dishes and dessert. It turned into quite a feast, and as dusk fell, we all headed back to our cool campers to escape the high humidity.   Now it's time to relax as we listen to the rain on the roof, which thankfully held off until after our dinner gathering was over.

This was a busy day, and I don't think we'll have any trouble sleeping tonight in our Little House on the Road.
