This past week, the weather has been much nicer with a couple of days when the AC was turned on in Little House, but then we needed the electric heaters at night.
Monday, we got Little House in "move" mode and made a trip to Cary, NC to get some wiring run under the coach to complete the installation of the ham radio antenna Hank mounted on the rear of Little House last week. After a short trip to Garner to get the correct connector on the end of the coax, we headed back to Moncure and got the RV settled back into place. Shortly after we returned, the RV step wouldn't extend so Hank spent much of the evening checking out the cause and determined the switches and sensors were all working but the motor would only make a faint click and would not turn. Luckily, we carry a tall stool that we could use to get in and out of the coach.
Tuesday, there was some more looking for the "step" solution, and we contacted a mobile RV tech to arrange a visit. Tuesday night we had a group dinner to attend at Golden Corral.
Wednesday,Selene enjoyed another lunch outing with 5 other ladies from the campground. Hank was waiting for the technician to show up, but he didn't make it today. Wednesday night, we had a nice Mexican dinner with Mike.
Late Thursday morning, the mobile RV tech arrived and determined the step motor was getting power but would not turn. He took the step motor off, tested it, and returned it to its mounting, and it started working. No guarantee how long that might continue, but we'll replace it if the problem returns.
Friday, Selene had a doctor's appointment. We checked on the house, and ate lunch at Golden Corral before heading to the storage facility. Hank spent 3 hours going through and reorganizing things. When we left the area in the fall, items had been placed in the storage room rather quickly. He wants to reorganize which tools we carry with us and this was the first step to in that process. After returning to Little House, we spent a quiet evening relaxing.
Saturday, it was time for another group breakfast at Golden Corral, followed by shopping at Walmart. Saturday evening, we met Chuck and Mary Jo Littlewood for a good dinner at Outback where we all enjoyed their current $11.99 three-course special as well as having a good time just being together.
Today, the weather is cooler with heavy rain and storms to start overnight and continue for a day or two. We're gearing up for a move on Thursday for a local Good Sam Club's campout next weekend.
