Today we made the short drive from Brimley, MI on the shore of Lake Superior to the Kewadin St. Igance Casino on the shore of Lake Huron. It's time to start heading south for some scheduled rallies later in September and October, and we decided to come back here where the overnight rate is inexpensive ($15 for water and electric) and to stay here past the Labor Day Weekend road madness. An added benefit at this location is being near our friends, Dave and Charlotte, and we'll get to spend some time with them, as well as depositing a few dollars in the casino's slot machines. The weather forecast promises that the nice cool weather will continue as well.
When we arrived today, there were only 5 other RV's in the 15 hookup spots, but we expect that there will be a full parking lot over the holiday weekend. A big event in this area is the annual Labor Day Walk across the Mackinac Bridge with thousands participating in the 5+ mile walk, so there will be added visitors to the area for that reason also. We'll probably stay here until Sept. 7th or 8th.
Can't imagine walking over that bridge. Especially if windy.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I would be uneasy just riding over it in a motor home on a windy day. When we were here last year, a camper turned over on the bridge due to high winds.
