We were both up early this morning, anticipating moving to another campsite in preparation for the NC Samboree later this week. Dad caught up with the state director who said most of his staff was in the cafe for breakfast, so that's where we headed. The cafe serves breakfast and lunch most days, all freshly prepared and at very reasonable prices. We found out check-in wouldn't start until 10 and we wouldn't be moving until after that when they told where they were putting us. It was more like 10:45 by the time the news was passed that we were moving to R23 - seven sites away facing the opposite direction. We packed up, switched sites, and got set up again about 12:45. The rest of the day was spent relaxing with the computers and rocking with the very heavy wind gusts. With temperatures in the 50's and the wind speed nearing 30 at times, it was not an appealing day to be outside, but at least it was dry, and by late afternoon, sun prevailed.
There are about 15 rigs in the rally park now, but many more will arrive day by day with 263 registered for this event. There are 4 or 5 other couples from our chapter joining us before the week is out so we look forward to their arrival.
We should sleep a little better tonight as the gusty winds appear to be dying down, although outside it will get down in the mid-30's. However, we'll be snug and warm in our Little House on the Road, thanks to our electric heaters, with occasional help from our furnace.
