Thursday, we met up with fellow chapter members as they arrived. Hank hooked up the cable tv connection (after the staff pulled it from another large, yet dormant, ant hill). After a relaxing but windy and sometimes rainy day, we went to dinner with 5 other couples at Nicky's of Swansboro which sits where Hwy. 24 crosses the White River as it flows into Bogue Sound. This scenic part of Swansboro looks to be the original business area with narrow streets and quaint shops.. Our group was seated in a private room and both the food and service was very good.
Friday dawned partly cloudy but was very windy again. We went to the coffee gathering for the rally, returned to the RV for computer time and visiting with friends. Selene played bingo in the afternoon and won $15. Our chapter meeting was held outside at the president's campsite and by the end we were all glad to head back inside out of the wind and cool temperatures. Eleven of us went to dinner at Portofino's on Emerald Isle, an upscale restaurant with delicious food and great service. The rest of the evening was spent relaxing in Little House.
Saturday, the windy conditions continued, with a brief morning shower followed by partly cloudy skies. We enjoyed a late start to out day and our computer time. This afternoon and evening have rally events which will keep us busy for the rest of the day. We now have a total of 7 rigs and 14 people from our local chapter here at Goose Creek Resort.
