The location on the side of I-81 means a lot of road noise, but that doesn't usually bother us. Facilities are in good shape and the owners are friendly folks.
There are no exciting adventures to write about....just lots of time for relaxing, ham radio, and our computers. The weather has been beautiful most of the time with datyime temperatures as high as 80 and nighttime lows near freezing. Last Monday, about 4 inches of rain fell, causing many flood warnings in the surrounding area, but no problems for us about midway down the campground's hill, and the neighboring creek stayed in its banks. There are colder temperatures predicted over the next two days, so Hank did most of the outside departure work yesterday and today - lowering the ham radio antenna, flushing the tanks, filling the water tanks, storing the water and sewer hoses, and bringing in the window awnings. There's a mention of snow for tomorrow afternoon in some of the forecasts, so that could be interesting. The surrounding hills were still very green when we arrived last week, but fall colors are finally starting to take over. We've done a little driving around and up and down the hilly terrain, and visited the two larger grocery stores in the area.
Monday, we'll get Little House moving further south on I-77 to the Statesville, NC KOA where we'll spend two nights, and we look forward to visiting with our son, Mike.
