BROOKVILLE, OH: A Look Back at 2016 Hamvention

We arrived in Brookville on Thursday evening.  Part of the next 3 days were spent at the 2016 Hamvention at Hara Arena - the largest ham radio event in the world.  Around 25,000 people attend, some all 3 days, to see almost anything that has to do with the amateur radio hobby, sit in on seminars, take license tests, and meet up with old and new friends.  The Hara facility including the arena, attached buildings and meeting rooms is old and showing it's age, but the people keep coming from all over the world. Last year 57 countries were represented..  Outside there is a 2500 space flea market where you can find almost anything you can think of.  Your admission ticket gives you the opportunity to win a prize - over $65,000 in prizes are given away.  We've been attending this event for at least 10 out of the last 11 years and look forward to returning in 2017.
