DEC.4 - DEC. 11: Brunswick, GA

Our last week in the Jacksonville area was a mix of quiet days, computer time, visits with our daughter, Karen and her family, and some grocery runs.  We also had a great lunch visit with Patti and Fred, ham radio/RV friends about 30 miles away in Yulee, FL, We reserved our site at Hanna Park for our Thanksgiving visit in 2018.

On Monday, December 4, it was time to move north to Brunswick, GA and the Blythe Island Regional Park Campground. This campground felt the effects of Hurricane Irma with over 200 downed trees, and it just reopened a month ago.  This is our second visit here...a wooded campground with level hard-packed sand sites, concrete patios with picnic table and firepit, and full hookups including WiFi and cable TV..

 The internet system was heavily damaged during Irma and is not yet fixed, but system upgrades will be made in the near future. We have a pull-throught site which is longer than any other place we've stayed.. There's a river on one side and a stocked fresh water lake on the property for fishing opportunities.

We have an event to attend next week about 4 miles away, so this was a good place to settle for a week and take care of various chores.  A nearby RV service center had the necessary items so Hank could replace the bulb and broken lens cover on our portch light.  The weather was very nice when we arrived, but it's rainy now and temperatures will fall into the weekend.
