MONCURE, NC; First Week

Our first week of being back in central NC has gone by quickly.  Unfortunately, the first part was cold, damp and dreary.

Monday, we drove to Fuquay to have the driver's inside door handle replaced where we bought the car, then checked on  our empty house. There have been some showings over the last several weeks, so that's encouraging.  After lunch at Golden Corral, we made a stop at the storage facility, then went back to Moncure.

Tuesday,  we did some shopping at Camping World, and then had an early dinner with Mike and caught up with his news.  He's now living on the east side of  Raleigh at 1828 Mayridge Lane, Raleigh, NC 27610. We then went to a radio club board meeting (Hank is webmaster), and after the meeting we went to Applebee's to enjoy some more time with friends.

Wednesday was an ordinary day, with the weather finally starting to dry out and warm up a little.

Thursday was a beautiful spring day and we enjoyed dinner at IHOP with some of the camping club members.

Yesterday, we shopped at CVS, ate lunch at Wendy's, the drove about 45 minutes south of Fuquay to a friend's machine shop so he could do some welding on the motorhome hitch assembly. Hank will add another ham radio antenna to this part after some additional wiring is done next week.  Our next stop was to pick up flyers for the camping club at a nearby printer and then we delivered them to the chapter president at his home in the country. After a nice visit, it was time to travel back roads back to Little House.

This morning, we attended a weekly breakfast gathering at Golden Corral in Raleigh and saw some more friends for the first time since we left the area last October.  After a grocery run at Walmart, it was back to Little House to enjoy the rest of another beautiful day.

We've enjoyed the outings we've had this week doing our errands and seeing old friends , but it's also  been nice just to hang out in Little House without thinking about  what needed to be done at the house. The weather is due to take a downward direction beginning tomorrow with colder and wetter weather returning for a good part of the coming  week.
