Although we woke to a small group of ants playing on the side of the counter, the overall count of living ants for the day was definitely down. We were as busy as the ants.
There was good news - the replacement jack had arrived in Marion and will be installed on the RV on Tuesday morning.
Yesterday morning, the chapter had a breakfast with the leftovers from Friday's breakfast, followed by the chapter meeting. Around noon, we went back to the RV so Selene could bake some dump cake. We took some "stuff" for auction items to the shelter. At 3:30 P.M., the chapter held an auction for donated items with the proceeds going to CARE, an RV-er's faciltiy in Livingston, Texas, the home park of the Escapees organization. At 5:30 P.M., we shared a pot-luck dinner featuring the leftover fried chicken and barbecue from Friday's meal, together with the sides and desserts brought by the members - delicious!. After-dinner conversations came to an end about 7 P.M when it was time to clean up, gather up supplies and say "see you later" to our friends. It's been a great rally, in spite of our ant problem, and we look forward to being with these people again. We didn't get to explore the Charleston area as much as would have liked, but we'll be back here in November for another RV gathering and we'll sightsee some more then.
Today (Sunday) we head back to Clayton for an overnight stay before we head to Marion on Monday to be in place for the jack repair on Tuesday. The next two weeks will be very busy, but we'll have more to share on that later.
