Yesterday morning, Selene did laundry at the service center. About 10:30 we drove about 30 miles west of Marion to Asheville to get some CPAP supplies. It was another perfect fall day - temperatures in the 60's, blue skies and beautiful fall scenery. After a stop at Arby's to try the new Turkey Roaster sandwiches (pretty good), we headed east of Marion to the U.S. Forestry Division office near Nebo to get an America the Beautiful lifetime Senior Pass for $10 which will give us discounted or free admission/parking for over 2000 federal recreation sites such as national parks, campgrounds, etc.
After 5 days, Little House now has a new roof. We were able to move back into our own RV late yesterday afternoon - which took about 30 minutes to pack up what was in the trailer and 60 minutes to get it all put back in the proper places in the motorhome. We're glad to be back home, and we're very grateful that we had good comprehensive insurance that paid all of the bill ( slightly over $10,000), except for our $400 deductible, and that we were able to stay in a travel trailer at no cost, on site, instead of moving to a hotel. Other jobs including a front brake lubrication, slide alignments, a screw for the loose mirror, and covering of a gap in floor connections, were also addressed.
We had already planned to stay until Monday morning (Oct. 22nd) since we have plans to meet someone for lunch tomorrow. We've had an ongoing problem with the water heater not providing water that was hot enough and Hank discussed this with the service writer to try to understand what could be done. Hank knew the water heater was producing hot water, but it wasn't getting distributed. A technician paid us a visit on site this afternoon to check out the situation. The problem was a mixer valve on the hot water line. We opted to have him remove the valve instead of replacing it and that should solve the problem. This job took about an hour to complete.
Our repair list is slowly getting smaller.
