We started the day at the service center office to see if we might be seen on Monday. After getting a somewhat positive response, we got permission to stay in the Rally Park on Sunday night and treated ourselves to breakfast in TJ's cafe while talking with friends.
Next stop was the pavilion to put our tickets in prize buckets for the Chinese Auction. There were 247 items to choose from. We then took time to do computer tasks and relax. At 12:30, we went back to the pavilion for a Klondike Bar, met up with some of our chapter members, and got our chairs in place for the drawing of the Chinese Auction prizes. We were lucky enough to win 3 items. Hank returned to the RV and Selene played bingo, where she won $26. A service tech visited Hank and surveyed the slide seal problem that will be addressed early next week.
At 4:30 P.M. it was time to go get our catered dinner box - chopped barbecue pork barbecue sauce, slaw, baked beans, hush puppies and peach cobbler. We decided to eat in the RV.
The evening activities started at 6:15 with a theme parade (Disney), where groups, individuals and children competed for prizes based on the best costumes, followed by announcements and a few raffle drawiings. The entertainment tonight was Crystal Gage , a very talented Canadian singer who put on a one-woman show of country music with lots of comedy and audience participation. Her final song showcased her musical theater training with a stirring rendition of "Memory" from Cats.
The Samboree officially ends tomorrow morning with a worship service. We'll probably have a quiet day as the park empties, but after a busy week, quiet times will be welcome..
