Marion, NC: Seventh Night

Today's Samboree schedule was full of activities.  We started our day at the First-Timers' meeting at 8:30 P.M. where some of the chapter presidents were available to answer questions about their chapters. After the meeting, we met one of the 'guests' who had been in contact with Hank about possibly joining our chapter.  We picked up our goody bag, and then headed to the dealership for the free donuts and coffee.  Naturallly we had to check out some of the new motor homes for sale to see what we're missing out on, and didn't see anything that tempted us.

Back at the RV, Hank prepared for the chapter meeting to be held under our awning.  The meeting started at 11:15. Several members hung around afterwards enjoying barbecue sandwiches that were being sold just across the lane.  In fact we spent the  rest of the afternoon visiting until about 3 P.M.  Hank worked on some computer problems and Selene played Bingo again and won $18.

After an early supper, we headed to the Pavilion for the Samboree's opening ceremonies followed by a performance by the Tsunami Waveriders (the two guys on end in picture were not there, but there was one more girl) who had performed at the Spring Samboree.  They put on a good show, even with the leader on crutches, and deserved their standing ovation.  The show was followed by door prize giveaways and we won a bag from the dealership with various products in it.
