Marion, NC: Fourth Night

My last post ended with us being nice and dry, but unfortunately that didn't last too long.  The heavy rain continued most of last night and when Selene woke at 2 A.M., Hank was trying to contain the water that was leaking from the seal-less slide corner.  The rest of the night was spent emptying the one container we could fit to catch some of it.  We didn't want to pull the slide in under darkness without being able to see what might be happening.  Early this morning, we did put the slide in and the leakage stopped although there were several periods of heavy rain today as well.

Still no word on when we can get the seal fixed.  Tonight the air is much cooler and less humid with some sun, but there are more showers west of us, so the slide will probably be brought back in before bedtime.  We also took time today to walk over to the dealership with Sandi and Art  and look at a couple of new fancy motor homes, and to have some more conversations with others we knew.

We are here for the NC Good Sam Fall Samboree. Some activities will start tomorrow, and a good number of the expected 200 rigs will arrive.  We are still at the regular campground. with the permission of the Service Manager, hoping we can get service before we move to the Rally Park.  Once we set up in the Rally Park, and others park around us, it would be difficult to move out and then move back in, so if there's no service tomorrow, we'll schedule it for early next week after the rally.  We're also giving the Rally Park some more time to dry out as the rain totals have been impressive.

Some of the rally activities start tomorrow, so it will be an interesting day.  More details on that tomorrow.
